Get a Danish address

You must have an address in Denmark to get a Danish CPR number. You need to have your own residence, or you can register your residence with a friend or family member.

EU residence document

Apply for an EU residence document online at www.newindenmark.dk.

Remember to make an appointment for a personal appearance at a SIRI office in Denmark, which is required to complete your application.

Becoming a citizen

Complete your application for an EU residence document in person at a SIRI office upon arrival in accordance with your appointment for a personal appearance.

SIRI offices are located in:

  • Copenhagen
  • Aarhus
  • Odense
  • Aalborg

Get
a CPR-number (Personal security number)

Apply for a CPR-number at the citizen service in the municipality in which you have an address.

Get Nem ID

You must have an Nem ID – you will receive this in person at the citizen service in the municipality where you live. You can find futher information about getting started with NemID here.

Get a health insurance card and be entitled to health care

The health insurance card is documentation that you are entitled to the services offered under the national health insurance scheme. The health insurance card is issued when you register for a CPR number.

Two to three weeks after you have registered for your CPR-number, your national health insurance card will be sent to your Danish address.

Tax card

When you have received your CPR-number, you will automatically receive a tax card. In order to speed up this process, we recommend that you apply for and tax card as well. Application and further information can be found here.

Bank account

In order to receive your salary from Kongsvang Cleaning & Facility A/S you need to have a Danish bank account.

To open a bank account, you need to contact a bank. The bank will want to see your:

  • Passport
  • Danish health insurance card
  • Contract of employment
